What is a reasonable recording space?
We come out to you and record in your space.
This could be a living room, rehearsal studio, church hall – whatever.
If we’re going to give the session the best chance of being a success, though, we need to choose a space which helps us. If you can’t provide the ideal – we will of course work with what we’ve got. I’ve done sessions in a number of places and large living rooms tend to give a suprisingly decent sound.
The best recording spaces will :-
-
be large enough to comfortably fit the band and a whole load of recording gear
-
have walls lined with books, curtains, furniture etc (rather than bare echoey walls)
-
have a smaller nearby room to use as the control room (to set up the computers, monitor speakers and mixer)
-
be quiet – with not much outside noise
-
be undisturbed – without folk wandering in
-
have plenty of electrical sockets
